What does a typical day look like for you?
Work can vary depending on the time of the month. My main tasks include preparing accounts for monthly reports, ensuring that invoices are correct and up-to-date, and dealing with queries from both customers and suppliers regarding payments.
What career journey have you been on to get where you are now?
Throughout lower and upper 6th I worked seasonally in Carnfunnock Country Park. I continued working there throughout University, where I also did a placement year with the Belfast Health Trust in their Finance Department, mainly focusing on budgets.
What excites you about your industry?
It is constantly changing and every day is different with new challenges.
What advice would you give to your 13-year old self?
I originally was interested in doing Engineering but Business Studies at GCSE level, especially the methematical and problem solving aspects, changed my mind. It’s OK to change your mind!
