Pamela is the National Officer for Northern Ireland at The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the membership body for the logistics and transport sector.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I cover all of Northern Ireland for a Chartered Membership organisation ā promoting careers, skills and professional development within the Logistics & Transport Sector. This involves planning strategies, meeting with schools, colleges or industry, and reviewing outcomes, as well asdeveloping and creating new opportunities for my organisation.
What career journey have you been on to get where you are now?
I have held a variety of roles within my sector, including; Administration, Transport Manager, Compliance Manager, and Contracts Manager. Within each role I always ensured I learned new skills and developed the role to ensure I could move up the career ladder. This has allowed me to be successful in my current position.
What excites you about your industry?
The pace at which logistics and transport works at, technological advancements, role variety, problem solving and networking ā as you never know who you might meet!
What advice would you give to your 13-year old self?
No matter what career you end up in, always strive to do the best you can.
