4C UR Future LIVE is a fast-paced and action-packed careers inspiration event for Year 9 pupils, which is free to attend for schools, including free transport.
In 2022, 4C UR Future LIVE is an at-scale pilot. Places are limited and reserved on a first come, first served basis, subject to equality of opportunity criteria.
To register for a LIVE event, schools complete a two-step registration process:
Step 1: Schools register their interest in attending 4C UR Future LIVE.
Step 2: Schools successful in obtaining a place complete registration for all of their Year 9 pupils, which includes access to the 4C UR Future CAREERS PORTAL.
Schools that do not obtain a place in the 2022 LIVE events can still register all of their Year 9 pupils for access to the 4C UR Future CAREERS PORTAL.

Every sector has been impacted by the continuous development and integration of innovative – and often disruptive – technologies, such as automation, digitisation, and Industry 4.0.
Employers have had to integrate new technologies, build resilience, and adapt to change. As a result, the qualifications, skills, and experience they seek in employees has evolved.
New sectors, skill requirements, and even entirely new job roles continue to emerge.
The challenge for today’s educators and careers advisors – how do we prepare our young people for new jobs and opportunities that don’t currently exist?
Today, some of the most in-demand jobs didn’t exist just ten years ago. These jobs offer our young people fantastic opportunities, right here in Northern Ireland. But career pathways are complex and not linear as they once were.
This new and dynamic skills landscape is ever-changing and fast moving, and understandably, it can be difficult for careers education, information, advice, and guidance to keep pace with the changing needs of employers.
This also puts teachers and careers advisors under significant pressure to be able to deliver personalised, up to date, and cross-sectoral information and support to young people.
This is where 4C UR Future aim to help.
As an industry-led social enterprise, we aim to involve, inform, and inspire young people to make more empowered education and career choices, become the best version of themselves, and foresee their own futures. And our starting point, is 4C UR Future LIVE.
Many careers initiatives are dependent on school location, resource, or happenchance, resulting in inequality of opportunity and economic disadvantages. Our LIVE events are held across NI, are free to attend for schools (including free transport), and are designed for whole year groups.
We seek to independently support educators and careers advisors in delivering Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) through up to date, relevant, and relatable Careers Content. Developed in collaboration with employers from all of the key sectors in Northern Ireland, the resources will be hosted on the 4C UR Future CAREERS PORTAL.
The first of its kind in Northern Ireland, the 4C UR Future CAREERS PORTAL is a digital engagement platform full of useful resources, activities, and signposting to further sources of information and support.
It is a pilot platform that is being released in phases. The first release is for Year 10 pupils, who must be registered by their school or teacher.
In the 2022/2023 academic year, all Year 10 pupils will be able to access the platform. This includes those Year 10 pupils who have attended a 4C UR Future LIVE event and those who have not.
