Tell us more about you

I’m 23 years old. I like welding and fabricating and do it at home outside of work as well. I also do farming part-time.

What kind of work do you do?

I work as part of an experienced Maintenance Team at Kilwaughter. I work alongside three other fitters and contractors daily. We work as a team to ensure that preventative maintenance is carried out on machines and equipment. The safety of myself and others is paramount, and maintenance helps us achieve this.

I play an essential role in ensuring that the production plant operates correctly by conducting planned preventative maintenance and responding to emergency breakdowns throughout the factory.

This is a busy and varied role where I get involved in different aspects of maintenance activities. I also have the responsibility of maintaining plant equipment such as crushers and mills and carrying out repairs on things like wear and tear on chutes.

I’m based across the whole site, with certain jobs taking place in the office, mill house, and top quarry.
