Tell us more about you

I’m Natalie, I am 26 and from Derry/Londonderry. When I am not working I spend a lot of time on fitness and lifestyle.

What kind of work do you do?

I'm a Key Account Specialist for Staffline. My role includes a wide spectrum of tasks, payroll to candidate recruitment. Things I do on a daily basis can include client meetings, registering new candidates, interviewing candidates, creating CVs to help candidates find jobs, completing rotas, and business development activities.

I am based in an office and work as part of a team. However, I'm the only Account Specialist for the public sector in Derry/Londonderry, so there are lots of tasks I have to do independently.

  • Positive Attitude

How did you become a Key Account Specialist?

I left school in Year 13 and went to North West Regional College to study health and social care. I worked for two years as a Care Worker and Support Assistant but decided this was no longer the career path I wanted to follow.

I went back to college and studied Beauty Therapy, as well as completing a course in waxing. I have a background in sales and customer service, and without knowing it at the time, these combine very much into roles in the recruitment sector.

I'm very much a person that likes to try new things. I've been very lucky to be able to follow different career paths with the support of my family. Leaving high school during Year 13 was a difficult choice to make but continuing my educations with NWRC opened a lot more opportunities for me.

What you do enjoy most about your job?

The best part is giving someone a call to let them know they've been successful and have a new job. We provide those who are unemployed or unhappy in their current role with a new career.

If you could do-over, What would you do differently?

I would not change my path as the places I have been and the jobs I have had have led me to where I am today, and the wonderful career prosects that I now have.

What advice would you give someone starting out on their career jouney today?

Don’t think you have to have it all worked out, each path is a lesson of its own and will help you get to where you want to be, without even knowing.

Don’t think you have to have it all worked out.
